Check out the projects that won the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Solar In Your Community Challenge competition. Unfortunately, NH Solar Shares was not chosen to receive a prize but we feel fortunate and remain appreciative of having been chosen as one of two teams in NH to bring solar energy to low-income families. We benefitted greatly from DOE’s coaching, training and technical assistance during the creation of our model and inaugural PV array located at Frosty Scoops in Plymouth. In the end, DOE was specifically looking for models that would install Megawatts of solar. NH Solar Shares is still working on our initial goal of installing three community PV arrays with a total of 125kW (vs. Megawatts!).
